EV charging, without the capital works project.
Plug Together gives your building charging as a service: we fund the equipment, manage the installation end to end, and operate it long term. Your committee approves a proposal — not a construction project.
What we take off your plate
- Capital cost — we can fund the chargers and installation. Flexible commercial structures are available, including options where the building contributes in exchange for better terms; we'll recommend the right fit after the assessment.
- Assessment and design — electrical capacity review, parking layout, metering and the right hardware for the building (typically shared 22 kW AC charging).
- Trades and compliance — we select and manage licensed electricians, coordinate access, and provide the compliance and insurance documentation your committee and insurer will ask for.
- The approval process — a clear written proposal, answers to committee questions, and motion templates prepared for committee decision or general meeting, whichever your spend threshold and by-laws require.
- Operation, billing and support — residents pay per kilowatt-hour through a managed platform. We monitor, maintain and repair the equipment for the life of the agreement, with periodic transparent rate reviews.
- Weekly reporting during delivery — a short written update every week: stage, work completed, who holds the next action, issues, next milestone.
How a shared charging bay works
Rather than wiring dozens of private bays, we install charging in one or more designated common-property bays that participating residents share in rotation — park, charge overnight, move on. A typical EV needs about one substantial overnight session a week, so one charger serves several vehicles. We supply the operating rules that keep it fair and available:
Fair-use by-law
A simple etiquette clause and operating by-law template for the scheme, drafted for Queensland community titles arrangements.
Idle-time management
A grace period after charging completes, then an idle fee — so the bay rotates instead of becoming someone's parking spot.
Bookings & visibility
App-based availability and queueing plus clear signage, so residents can see when the bay is free.
What a free site assessment covers
A short visit and desktop review, then a written summary your committee can circulate. No obligation. We look at: available electrical capacity and switchboard condition; candidate bays and cable routes; metering options; how many residents have or intend to buy EVs; and the commercial structure we'd recommend for your building.
| Stage | What happens | Committee effort |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Assessment | Site visit, electrical review, resident demand check | Provide access; share any drawings you have |
| 2. Proposal | Written proposal: scope, terms, compliance & insurance documentation | Review and ask questions |
| 3. Approval | Motion templates for committee or general meeting | Table and vote |
| 4. Installation | Licensed trades, managed end to end, weekly written updates | None — we run it |
| 5. Operation | Billing, monitoring, maintenance, support, rate reviews | None — we own it |

Tell us about the building. If you have AGM minutes, committee correspondence or electrical drawings, attach them — it speeds everything up (up to 5 files, 10 MB each).
Two minutes: your details, the building and where things are up to — choose "committee / strata manager" as your connection to the building. Have AGM minutes or electrical drawings? Email them to hello@plug-together.com and we'll attach them to your request.
